Abstract
N. Basov, the youngest Soviet Academician and winner of the Lenin and Nobel prizes, is interviewed on the subject of high-intensity laser research at the Lebedev Institute of which he is Deputy Director. The application of optical triggers, developed in Basov's Quantum Electronics Laboratory, in computer technology is briefly discussed. (Author)
