SELECTION OF MILITARY PERSONNEL FOR FOREIGN LANGUAGE TRAINING

Abstract

A program of research has been initiated to develop tests and other procedures for improving selection of language trainees. Currently selection of students is primarily based on a foreign language aptitude test. Since present selection procedures do not include systematic measurement of trainee motivation, non-cognitive measures were considered for selecting foreign language students.
