ONE-DIMENSIONAL INTERPOLATION WITH A TEST FORTRAN PROGRAM.

Abstract

The interpolation method described here produces a continuous curve with a continuous first derivative through an arbitrary set of points, ordered according to the dependent variable and single valued. Its use is recommended when the specific functional relation is unknown and when the areas of uncertainty of the points are small compared to their separation so that a least-squares fit is not desirable.
