STRAIN-CYCLING EFFECTS IN 1100 ALUMINUM,

Abstract

In this work, a quantitative analysis is made of the details of the stress-strain behavior in 100 aluminum. Particular interest has been devoted to determining if there is a characteristic shape to the loop and how the loop shape relates to the cyclic strain hardening curve. The relative importance of the transient, pre-saturated behavior has been investigated, as well as the shape prior to saturation. Finally, the observed behavior has been compared to dislocation models of cyclic straining. (Author)
