MODIFICATIONS TO INDIVIDUAL WEAPON SYSTEM COMPUTER COST MODEL,

Abstract

Description of significant modifications in the Individual Weapon System Computer Cost Model and a listing of the updated FORTRAN-IV program, including a summary of the new variables are given. Changes were made in five general areas: (1) attrition aircraft (calculations are now based on the discovery that attrition losses can be related exponentially to cumulative flying hours); (2) maintenance personnel (now, directly scaled with changes in postulated flying hour programs); (3) training costs; (4) spares and AGE costs (now calculated as percentages of the initial aircraft procurement less attrition); (5) output operations (changes here include zeroing out data erroneously retained from a previous run, an option for bypassing DUMP printout, an option for summing outputs of a series of runs, and significant reduction of core space required to read in data).
