Weldment Valuation Methods

Abstract

The report discusses the specimens and test methods used for the evaluation of weldments by destructive means. Tests described include tension, shear, bend, fatigue, cracking susceptibility, notch toughness, fracture toughness, stress rupture, creep, soundness, and hardness tests. Specimens and test methods are described through the use of 92 illustrations plus standard information applying to each illustration as follows: Purpose of test, number of specimens tested, important variables, data obtained, specifications, references, and remarks.
