RADIATION PATTERNS OF A SLOT ANTENNA IN THE PRESENCE OF A BREAKDOWN SHEATH,

Abstract

The plasma sheath which characterizes aperture breakdown causes severe attenuation and phase distortion of the transmitted signal in the broadside direction. The experimental radiation pattern and the effects of the breakdown sheath are investigated for a wide range of pressures and breakdown power levels. (Author)
