RESEARCH ON ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY AND CONDUCTION MECHANISMS IN ALUMINA.

Abstract

A research study to better understand conduction mechanisms in alumina was conducted. Defect equilibration studies were performed on single crystals in which specimens were heated to elevated temperatures in controlled environments and then rapidly quenched. Defect structure changes were determined by ionic and electronic resistivity measurements. (Author)
