AERODYNAMIC CALCULATION OF THE FLOW IN AXIAL-FLOW TURBOMACHINERY,

Abstract

The basic position of aerodynamics of turbomachines are given in the book. The problem of three-dimensional flow of a working medium in bladed apparatuses is examined, and methods of calculation of two-dimensional flows are given. The flowing around of airfoil cascades is investigated, and the methods of their designing are given. There is discussed the general theory of flow of a working medium in blade apparatuses of turbomachines in its contemporary state. Examples of the solution to the basic problems are given. On the basis of the discussed methods of calculation, it is possible not only to improve the aerodynamics of the blades but also consider the mutual influence of the stages and calculate the universal characteristics. One chapter is devoted to methods of calculation of foil cascades obtaining widespread use in turbine constructions, which were founded on the solution of integral equations. The final chapter discusses the method of designing subsonic and transonic airfoil cascades. Examples of the calculations are carried out in the international system of units. (Author)
