USE OF LAMINATED ANISOTROPIC TUBES FOR DETERMINING THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF FIBER REINFORCED COMPOSITE MATERIALS.

Abstract

Using Donnell's approximations, the analysis of a laminated anisotropic tube under combined tension or compression, internal pressure, and torque is presented. Results show that a tube clamped at one end while free to rotate at the opposite end can be used to completely characterize the mechanical properties of a fiber reinforced composite material.
