PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS AND WIND EFFECTS FOR THE AEROBEE 150 WITH VAM BOOSTER,

Abstract

Trajectories were simulated, and wind effects were computed for the Aerobee 150 with the VAM-17 and VAM-20 boosters using a five-degree-of-freedom trajectory simulation program on the IBM 7094 computer. Performance characteristics and theoretical functions for ogive and cone-cylinder nose cone configurations are presented for payloads varying from 150 to 500 pounds and for effective launch elevation angles of 85 degrees to 88 degrees.
