ELECTRON BEAMS AND ELECTRON GUNS,

Abstract

The volume sets forth the basic problems of shaping (focusing) high-intensity electron fluxes. The fluxes are considered in the region of a homogeneous, periodic and reversing magnetic field, in the transitional region of an inhomogeneous magnetic field, and in the collector region, and electron guns for shaping of axisymmetric, ribbon and tubular fluxes and guns with high perveance and strong convergence are considered. Electrostatic and ionic focusing are described. Circuits and examples are presented for the practically most important systems with longitudinal magnetic field. (Author)
