METHOD OF CHARACTERISTICS FOR CALCULATION OF TWO-DIMENSIONAL VORTEX FLOWS OF EQUILIBRIUM AND IDEAL GAS,

Abstract

Since results of calculations of flow around blunt bodies by ideal and equilibrium gas are of considerable interest, the scheme of method of characteristics was selected so that the corresponding program for electronic digital computers is universal, i.e., with its use one can calculate flow by taking into account equilibrium physicochemical reactions or by disregarding them. Results are presented of these calculations. Results of calculations are analyzed and compared with some conclusions of theory of hypersonic flows. (Author)
