Q FEVER IN THE URALS,

Abstract

Q fever was first identified in the Urals in June 1954. The disease, which occurred in groups in the Kirov oblast', bore a focal character, which in spite of the varied clinical picture and the difficulty of diagnosis, acted as a guide in epidemiological investigations. The results so obtained were used later for studying the spread of Q fever in the Urals and the elaboration of prophylactic measures against this disease. (Author)
