STANNOUS FLUORIDE (0.1%) MOUTHWASH STUDY.
Abstract
During the acceptance testing of the 0.1% stannous fluoride mouthwash the subjects related that use of the mouthwash seemed to make their teeth cleaner. This study was conducted to determine the effect of a 0.1% stannous fluoride mouthwash on plaque accumulation on human dentition. Fifteen subjects completed the study which lasted 22 weeks. Each subject used a placebo mouthwash for 11 weeks and a 0.1% stannous fluoride mouthwash for 11 weeks. The subjects were scored for plaque buildup three times, initially and after each of the 11-week periods. (Author)
