JOINT TESTING CONFERENCE, 27-29 OCTOBER 1959.
Abstract
This paper reports on the conference which has as its purpose the review, study, and discussion of the mission, organization, work load, and schedule of the various Armed Forces activities engaged in testing enlisted military personnel for selection, advancement, promotion, and/or performance. In addition to better examinations, our deliberations should result in improved procedures in (1) test development, (2) the processing of examination returns, and (3) the evaluation of test results through objective statistical analysis and through subjective discernment of item and examination behavior.
