A LOW FIELD ELECTRON SPIN RESONANCE STUDY OF THE EFFECT OF RADIATION IN LIVING ANIMALS.

Abstract

It has been demonstrated that free radicals are formed in living systems as a consequence of exposure of these systems to various kinds of ionizing radiation. In addition, it has been shown that it is possible to obtain the environmental conditions necessary to produce ESR while simultaneously maintaining those necessary for the survival of a living test specimen. It has been also demonstrated that a conveniently used, highly reproducible electronic system can be developed for the operation and control of an L-band spectrometer. (Author)
