DETERMINATION OF HEAT-TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS IN A TUBE FROM THE TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION ON THE CONTOUR OF THE TUBE CROSS SECTION,

Abstract

The heat transfer of a fluid in a tube with an axisymmetric temperature field is discussed. A method is proposed for determining the heat-transfer coefficients in the case of an arbitrary temperature distribution at any face of a contour. Using a modified zero-order Bessel function of the first kind and applying the Fourier method, an expression is obtained for the n-th term of a series, accurate to within a constant factor. The method can also be applied to studies of external longitudinal flow about tubes. (Author)
