DENTURE IDENTIFICATION,

Abstract

In the United States there is no standard method of identifying dentures. Should an edentulous individual be involved in a disfiguring disaster, it might be difficult to identify him unless his dentures were uniquely marked. A method is suggested for imprinting an individual's Social Security number on a high melting metal that can be inserted in complete, partial, or temporary dentures. An additional benefit is the incorporation of a radiopaque substance to help locate radiographically an aspirated temporary partial denture. (Author)
