THE GENERAL SOLUTION OF A WEDGE ON AN ELASTIC FOUNDATION.

Abstract

The differential equation, the fourth derivative of y with respect to x + 2/x x the third derivative of y with respect to x + y = 0 describes the deflection of a wedge on an elastic foundation. The equation is solved by means of contour integration.
