THE ROLE OF MEDICINE FOR EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

Abstract

The purpose of this publication is to provide the physician with an integrated guide to his responsibilities for the development and operation of the emergency health and medical services in his community under dual headings: Natural Disaster and Nuclear Disaster. Included in the text are discussions of problems which have arisen in communities which have experienced catastrophic local disasters. Provided in the appendixes is a variety of technical and reference information which will be useful to the physician in the upgrading of his community's emergency health service capability.
