GENERATING NANOSECOND PULSES BY SHOCK WAVES IN A MISMATCHED LOAD,

Abstract

A nanosecond pulse generator is analyzed for the case when the load is not matched to the additional terminal transmission line. This line may be used to connect the generator to a remote load, or it may act as a pulse transformer (one variant of which has coaxial cable windings). Conditions are analyzed for which the pulse reflected from the load is not reflected back from the line and does not distort the output pulse shape. (Author)
