INVESTIGATION OF ANTENNAS IN PLASMA MEDIA.

Abstract

Slot antenna performance was studied in an ionized environment, and self and mutual admittance and antenna patterns have been measured during a pulsed microwave breakdown. Electron removal and energy relaxation rates are summarized for several atmospheric gases. Antenna impedances were computed for a magnetized cold plasma and for an isotropic warm plasma. The accuracy of these antenna solutions was studied by examining the surface electric fields excited by approximate current distributions. (Author)
