TRAPPED ENERGETIC ALPHA PARTICLES IN THE OUTER RADIATION BELT,

Abstract

Alphas with energies greater than 4.4 and 8.2 MeV were detected in the earth's outer radiation belt (near L = 3.0) with a counter telescope. These measurements were carried out in August 1966 aboard the near polar elliptical OV3-3 satellite (1966-70A). (Author)
