ON THE SOLUTION OF GEODETIC ADJUSTMENT PROBLEMS BY THE METHOD OF SQUARE PROGRAMMING (O Reshenii Zadach Geodezicheskogo Uravnoveshivaniya Metodom Kvadratichnogo Programmirovaniya),

Abstract

The paper discusses some essential characteristics of the system of equations compiled from the measurement results, primarily processed by the Gauss method of least squares. The Gauss method estimates the parameters of the measurements by solving the problem for a conditional minimum of a square form, with the aid of the Legendre auxiliary multipliers in a general case. Utilization of square programming makes it possible to consider the influence of the systematic observation errors in the adjustment program and it widens the possibility of mathematical treatment of geodetic measurements.
