Abstract
A brief literature survey covering the present state of polymer plastics development is presented. The following topics are discussed: a short historic survey; polymers for producing fibers; chemically stable polymers (penton, polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polypropylene, teflon, polyformaldehydes, polycarbonates); high temperature polymer materials (polymers of organosilicon compounds, polyorganometallo siloxanes, polymers of elementary organic compounds, complex polymer compounds, inorganic polymers, high temperature films and fibers); organic semiconductor materials.
