ON LINEAR SYSTEMS OF DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS WITH A REGULAR SINGULAR POINT.

Abstract

The note is concerned with the linear system of differential equations dw/dz = A(z) w where A(z) is meromorphic at z = 0. Necessary conditions for z = 0 to be a regular singular point are obtained in terms of order conditions for the symmetric functions of the matrix A. The order conditions are shown to be sharp by example and characterized for an important subclass of matrices. (Author)
