FORECAST SELF-INSTRUCTIONAL TROUBLESHOOTING SCRAMBLED MANUAL FOR LORAN RECEIVING SET: AN/UPN-12, AN/UPN-12A, AN/UPN-15, AN/UPN-15A.

Abstract

The manual was prepared as part of an integrated system for maintenance of the AN/UPN-12 and AN/UPN-15 LORAN equipment at sea. It relates to the troubleshooting block diagrams and malfunction symptoms of those sets. It is a self-instructional text in scrambled format. Each input and output of the troubleshooting block diagram is explained in detail, as is the block section. Visual aids are presented with the explanations. The manual is being used as an example of the FORECAST approach to manuals, as a teaching aid to military users, and for exploratory work in electronics maintenance. (Author)
