CALCULATION OF MAGNETOHYDRO-DYNAMIC FLOW IN A DUCT WITH SECTIONIZED ELECTRODES,

Abstract

The paper deals with methods of calculation of the magnetohydro-dynamic flow in a duct on the basis of quasi-one-dimensional approach in the presence of the Hall effect, friction, heat exchange, and voltage drop near the electrodes with determination of corrections, considering the dimensions of the sectionized electrodes. The methods are illustrated by two examples of calculation of supersonic flow in an MHD-generator duct with load resistance connected across the duct terminals. (Author)
