CALCULATION OF THE COLLISION OF METALLIC BODIES BASED ON A MODEL COMPRESSIBLE FLUID,

Abstract

The document determines the stationary collision characteristics between metallic bodies under the assumption that the metal behaves under stress like a two-dimensional liquid, and under the assumption that both colliding bodies are compressible. A system of differential equations is derived describing the velocity components, the pressure, the density, and entropy, and the shock wave propagation in the two bodies.
