EQUIPMENT AND METHODS OF MEASUREMENT USED IN AIRCRAFT FLIGHT TESTING,

Abstract

Chapter I of the book contains general information about measuring equipment, about errors in measurements, and an appraisal of the accuracy of instruments is given. Chapter II covers different types of converters. In Chapters III-VIII are examined basic types of measuring equipment: for pressure, speed, barometric altitude, angular and linear displacement, deformation, force, overload, vibration, angles of turn, angular velocity, angular acceleration, fuel consumption, and temperature. In Chapters IX-XI are described airborne and ground recorders, and basic errors of methods of recording by magnetic recorders, telemetry equipment, and instruments operating on carrier frequency are given. In Chapter XII presented basic measuring circuits used during flight tests, and methods of their design are given. In the last chapter are given the simplest methods of processing readings of self-recordings instruments and oscillograms. (Author)
