GENERATION IN RUBY AND NEODYMIUM GLASS WITH AXICON PUMPING,

Abstract

This work investigates generation in ruby and neodymium glass rods in an axicon illuminator. A comparison with dense pumping showed that the effectiveness of the axicon illuminator was lower, although the structure of the field of the output emission was more uniform and the angular divergence was less. The effectiveness increased as the lamp diameter was reduced.
