Abstract
The translation is of the marine dinoflagellates for use with other publications giving descriptions of them but no easy method of identification. Dinoflagellates are a very variable group with one species actually differing between two localities. Its value must therefore be determined by its usage and reliability. The method of operating this key is to numerically advance with the non-parenthesized numbers unless the description does not fit. If there is some doubt given by the description, proceed to the number in the parenthesis. At the description which fits best, once again proceed numerically until the taxonomic name is given.
