SURFACE INITIATED FAILURE OF MATERIALS.

Abstract

A feasibility study of the use of a one dimensional field emission microscope for the study of surface initiated failure of materials was conducted. This study demonstrated that more development is needed before such a microscope can be generally used as a non-destructive testing tool. (Author)
