SILVER PHOSPHATE GLASS DOSIMETRY AND ITS USE AT THE US ARMY NUCLEAR DEFENSE LABORATORY,

Abstract

The report describes the use of silver phosphate glass for gamma dosimetry. Silver phosphate glass rods provide inexpensive and reliable measurements of gamma exposures from 10 to 100,000 R. With energy discrimination shields and 6LiF thermal neutron shields, the system is essentially photon-energy independent and is insensitive to thermal neutrons. Fast neutron responses were measured at various neutron energies from 1 to 14 MeV. (Author)
