BEAM PROFILE EFFECTS IN LASER SAFETY ANALYSIS.

Abstract

The application of the probability of damage parameter for bounded waves with non-homogeneous wave fronts is discussed. The first approach treats the beam profile as a series of quasi-homogeneous energy density regions. The second approach consists of a generalized analysis applied to beams for which an analytical form of the profile is known. (Author)
