HEAT TREATABLE WELDS IN STEEL PLATE,
Abstract
The report presents the results of tests of arc welded joints in 4130 steel sheet and plate, the joints being subsequently heat treated. Test results both for shear fillet welds and for tension butt welds are included and design ultimate strengths are recommended. In addition to the data obtained in this investigation, test results obtained from welds of thinner plate and sheet during previous investigations are included, when applicable. (Author)
