TWO STRESS RELAXOMETERS FOR EXPERIMENTS WITH CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERES.

Abstract

Designs of two stress relaxometers for chemical stress relaxation experiments where it is necessary to exclude oxygen from the sample are presented. The first is an environmental chamber for a standard relaxation balance, while the second is an improved spring balance for elastomeric materials. Chemical stress relaxation rates for EPT rubber in these instruments are given. (Author)
