RELIABILITY OF MEASUREMENTS IN THE PROPOSED PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST FOR WOMEN MARINES.
Abstract
Test-retest coefficients of reliability were determined for the measurements in the proposed new physical readiness test for Women Marines. The four-block shuttle run was included for comparison with the two-block shuttle run, and selected anthropometric data were recorded on the subjects. The coefficients of reliability were satisfactorily high. The four-block shuttle run gives a better distribution of the data and a higher reliability coefficient than does the two-block shuttle run and it is recommended that the former replace the latter in the test battery. The subjects were found to have proportionately larger waist and hip girths than are considered 'ideal' at the present time. (Author)
