METHODS OF IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF PRECISION CASTING FROM ALUMINUM ALLOYS,

Abstract

A method and equipment for precision casting of rotor disks for aircraft turbocoolers was developed. The authors' conclude that the method of casting rotor disks of turbocooler in gypsum molds makes it possible for one to get the best aerodynamics of the profile. In the smelting of aluminum alloys intended for the making of castings of highly sensitive parts the ultrasonic degasification treatment proves to be the most effective method. The ultrasonic treatment in the process of hardening heightens the mechanical properties and improves the structure of the castings. (Author)
