ON THE HIGH REACTIVITY OF PEROXIDE RADICALS IN AN OXIDATION-REDUCTION REACTION

Abstract

The salts of variable-valence metals are widely used as oxidizing catalysts for various organic substances. It is known that the rate of the oxidation reaction directly depends on the concentration of the active centers - - the peroxide radicals RO2.. The interaction between peroxide radicals and manganese stearate was investigated with the aid of a chemiluminescence setup described by Vasil'yev et al.
