DIFFUSION BONDING OF TITANIUM ALLOYS.

Abstract

The basic mechanisms of solid state bonding of titanium alloys are being investigated using the alloy Ti-6Al-4V as a reference. Progress during the seventh quarter included shear tests, metallography and ultrasonic scans on seven specimens bonded during the previous quarter. Bonding was initiated on four specimens to be used for tensile tests. (Author)
