FORCED OSCILLATIONS OF AN ELLIPTICAL PLATE,

Abstract

The paper considers small transverse forced oscillations of an elliptical thin elastic plate under the action of a short-term distributed load. It is assumed that the material of the plate is homogeneous and isotropic and that its thickness is constant. The equations of motion are written down on the basis of Hamilton's principle and the assumptions of the technical theory of the flexure of plates. The effect of long-term action of the load on the value of the flexure of the mean surface is studied. A standard computer program is formulated for the complete solution of the flexural oscillations of an elliptical plate with a short-term uniformly distributed load.
