ADSORPTION OF A GAS MIXED WITH AN AIR STREAM

Abstract

The distribution of the chlorine adsorbed by an adsorbing bed from an air stream, as well as the distribution of the residual chlorine in the gas phase along the same bed in a specially constructed apparatus was studied. The dependence of the service time on the length of the adsorbing bed is expressed by two empirical quantities. These quantities permit the definition of the adsorption properties of a bed under fixed experimental conditions and the calculation of the service time for different bed lengths under the same conditions.
