TENSION AND DAMPING EFFECTS ON VIBRATING STRINGS.

Abstract

Theoretical methods are presented which provide a means for calculating the correct fret position for any fretted stringed musical instrument. The two methods are judged equal in the accuracy to which they can respectively calculate fret positions. The degree of difficulty in obtaining fret positions by either method is judged equal.
