INSTRUMENTAL POLARIZATION IN THE SOLAR TOWER TELESCOPE AT OSLO solar observatory,

Abstract

The effect of instrumental polarization has been studied for a solar tower telescope equipped with a coelostat and an 'off-axis' mirror system. The effect of instrumental polarization on measurements of the magnetic field direction is treated. A possible method for compensation of the instrumental effects is mentioned.
