THE PRODUCTION OF RADIOACTIVE ANTHRAX BACILLI

Abstract

Following the addition of vitamin B6 to the nutrient medium containing radioactive sulfur, the growth of the microorganisms increases and their radioactivity goes up correspondingly by 40%. Following the addition of vitamin B12, absorption of the sulfate increases by 50%. Following simultaneous addition of vitamins B6 and B12 to the nutrient medium the radioactivity of the anthrax bacilli increases, as compared to a medium without vitamins, by 80%.
