MICROCULTURE METHOD WITH THE USE OF LUMINESCENT MICROSCOPY FOR THE RAPID DIAGNOSIS OF ADENOVIRUSES,

Abstract

A method of microcultures on slides (8 x 75 mm) for growing of monolayer cultures of human embryo kidney cells was developed. It was shown that normal and type 3 and 7 adenovirus-infected monolayer cultures could be stained with acridine orange and the cytopathic effect could be revealed. Immunofluorescent adenovirus sera could be used for detection of the cytopathic effect in tissue cultures infected with adenovirus types 3 and 7. (Author)
