TURBULENT FLOW WITH HEAT TRANSFER IN TWO-DIMENSIONAL CHANNELS.

Abstract

A theoretical analysis of a turbulent boundary layer over a flat plate based on the use of a universal velocity profile is reviewed and an extension to turbulent flow in two-dimensional channels is derived. The friction and heat transfer coefficients and mass flow rate are related to the bulk Reynolds number and factors are given that extend these relations over a range of non-uniform temperature conditions, the results being tabulated and shown graphically.
