METHOD OF STABILIZATION OF POLYORGANO-SILOXANES,

Abstract

Stabilization of polyorgano-siloxanes is conventionally achieved using ferrocene-derivatives but now more effective stabilization is ensured by using two new ferrocene derivs.: 1,1' bis-(dimethyl-ethoxysilyl) ferrocene (A) and 1,3 -bis(1,1' - ferrocenylene) tetramethyldisiloxane (B). They are soluble in polyorganosiloxanes at -60C and are very suitable for lubricants and similar silicon fluids. The increased effectiveness of both A and B as stabilizers compared to conventional compounds is shown in a table. (Author)
